“Enjoying the view, Window?”
Jack Neilson paused from his long gaze then swiveled his chair to face the doorframe. Standing there amidst the hustle of passing patients was Orderly Roebuck. A hundred replies came to Jack’s mind, ranging from “Yes, thank you” to “Cram it.” Nice and polite Jack, don’t rustle the natives.
“Quite enjoyable, thank you.”
Roebuck gave a smirk and continued down the hallway. Roebuck was the one who gave Window his nickname over 6 years ago. Orderlies. Men with power, the big fish of Jack’s little pond. Why a man who had the option to go home to his wife would take the time to be envious of Jack’s one fancy accommodation was beyond reason. Jack could understand the other residents of his fine establishment being a tad bit jealous, but Roebuck was just an ass. If only he knew what this window could mean to a man.
Jack turned back to his panel and continued his dead gaze into the fenced off world.

The following posts are small installations to a short story I will be writing. I would like feedback on each installation, including grammatical corrections, writing techniques, and plot development. Please be harsh in your evaluations. While I hope to entertain, I wish more to refine what amount of writing ability I have.
Enjoy.
